Is Social Bicycles a "station-less" system?

Social Bicycles is not purely a “station-less” system. Rather, the system provides a hybrid approach which relies on a network of hubs/stations, with the added ability of locking bicycles outside of these designated areas.

Hubs, or stations, are an essential part of our operations. They provide users with reliable and permanent pickup and drop-off locations. Users without a smartphone or web browser can easily find bikes at these locations. However, by downloading our mobile application or accessing our system through a web browser, users can use the interactive map to also locate bikes which are locked outside of hubs.

For more information, see the "Can A Bike Be Locked Anywhere" section, and the "Bike Bounty" section.
